Sing with Esther – musical preview

[Update: The Sing With Esther program is now in a second phase: we’re no longer putting together a virtual choir of our own, but the music remains available for any choirs that are interested in adding (one) or both of these songs to their repertoire – at no cost. Either sign up on the website, or reach out directly.]

Putting together a virtual choir is hard, and is incredibly more time-consuming than we could have ever imagined, but we’ve got the music done! And the guide tracks recorded! Just a few more kinks to work out, but you can now hear the two songs. And in about a month, we will be launching the SingWithEsther.com website, and accepting the first singers and choir directors!

Corner Block (SATB): Intro to the musical, ballad with a funk-hip bridge:

Finale (SSAATTB): Multi-layered mash-up of key songs from the musical; a bit more challenging.

In both of these choral versions, we’ve used vocal percussion; totally optional, and the arrangements work both with and without. I’ll write a bit more about this in a future post.

Interested in doing a cool comparison? You’ve just listened to the Choral version of the Finale. Check out the version of the Finale from the musical. Give it a listen:

Pretty soon, we’ll have the Sing With Esther website live, but for now, here’s a screen shot of what it will look like:
