Wow, just wow. After casting, studio work, post-production, and more back-and-forths than you could imagine, the studio cast recording of Who Is Esther is now on Apple Music, Spotify, and 250+ other online music stores.
If you want to listen on Apple Music, here’s the link: https://music.apple.com/ca/album/who-is-esther-studio-cast-version/1887599163
Here’s the link on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/791hJt5CTQA9lorQKcCBU7
And here is the very surprised (and happy) me – seeing it in Apple Music for the first time!
For those interested in the technical details, the tracks were mixed using Final Cut Pro, and then Mastered using Landr.com. Once mastered, we uploaded a huge ton of meta data (genre, subgenera, artist names, ownership and licensing information, proof of rights, etc, etc) then used Landr to distribute to the online stores. It will be interesting to see where the listeners will be coming from.
Who Is Esther on TikTok? We did have a VERY early version of some of the songs on Spotify and Apple music (they are no longer there.) I was thrilled to find out that the song “Who Is Esther” was being used! When I went to TikTok to investigate, it seems someone used the song as background music for their cat video! (Their cat… was named Esther.) Phhht – what a let-down!
Interesting factoid: Spotify pays between $0.003 and $0.005 per stream (eg song listened to. Apple Music pays a $.01 per stream – double. We won’t get rich on this, but we love the idea of sharing the Esther story more widely, and this is one way we can do it.
